Turkey-wide Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Sector exported approximately 20 thousand tons of fresh figs to 49 countries and a value of 48.9 million dollars in 2019. Figs are exported to the following countries mainly: Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Russian Federation, France, Austria, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Iraq, and Ukraine.
87% of the fresh figs exported from our country are Bursa Black Figs. Bursa Black Fig is registered as “Bursa Siyah İnciri” with its own, inimitable color, taste, and delicacy. It is accepted as the best-quality table fig in the world with its long shelf life, outer skin, size, sweet and juicy internal form. It is a fruit unique to Bursa and is a brand in this area. Bursa is the most important center of Bursa Black Fig production amount of 20 thousand tons.
